With her wealth of experience, diverse expertise, and unwavering dedication, Cheryl continues to make a positive impact both in the legal field and in other community and personal endeavors. She has served on the Saint Lucia Legal Aid Board in the capacity of Deputy Chairperson and Chairperson respectively, as a member of the Board of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College; and currently sits on the Archdiocese of Castries Finance Committee and on the panel of lawyers for Republic Bank (EC) Limited.

Cheryl Goddard-Dorville is a seasoned legal professional with 19 years of experience in the field of law. Having founded her own successful law firm – Goddard-Dorville Legal – in 2017, she has established herself as a prominent Labour Law practitioner and an expert in the intricacies of Labour law.

In addition to her specialization in Labour law, Cheryl also excels in diverse legal areas such as Intellectual Property Law (in particular trademarks), Property and Real Estate Law, as well as Succession and Estate Planning. Her wide-ranging expertise allows her to provide comprehensive legal solutions to her clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.

 A dedicated advocate for legal education and awareness, Cheryl presents a labour law seminar   “Know your Labour Act” in collaboration with the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce  Industry and Agriculture, twice a year, sharing her knowledge and insights with business owners and human resource professionals.

Cheryl studied for her Bachelor of Law at the University of London and completed the Bar and a Master of Law at Northumbria University in Newcastle, United Kingdom. Cheryl was called to the Bar of England & Wales at Lincoln’s Inn in 2005 followed by her call to the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the same year. She has been in private practice in Saint Lucia since then, first with a prominent Saint Lucian law firm for approximately 12 years, prior to establishing her firm Goddard-Dorville Legal in 2017.

Outside of her legal practice, Cheryl leads a fulfilling personal life as a happily married mother of two sons. She is a devoted “swim mom,” who serves as the President of her sons’ swim club, actively supporting and promoting the sport of swimming in her community. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, attending her sons’ swim meets and traveling with her family, exploring new destinations and creating lasting memories together.
